LOTS OF NEW STUFF! Be sure to snoop around!
Welcome to my section on camping! I hope you enjoy your stay!
I've detailed lots of information on camping in general, as well as Pagan festival-going :) Please note I still consider myself a lot less experienced than some others, some of which have been "out in the trenches" so to speak for decades! ;) I'm always tweaking and refining my style as the years go by; experience goes a long way haha! (I originally wrote this while I was on my fourth Mike's Hard Lime, so bare with me, spelling errors included :P I can chug them like Mountain Dews! That, and yeah, my design skillz are old school, but blah. The content is what's important. Right? RIGHT??? hehehe)
I've also made a printable general camping checklist that you're free to distribute if you find handy. Check out Pagan World's Festival Tips section for lots more info. While I'm darker than Wolf faith-wise, that dude is total hard-core when it comes to camping! Serena's Guide is awesome and sarcasticly funny as well! And this survival guide has some solid tips, too! Oh and yeah, I wrote this little ditty if you're so inclined to clickity-click-click and check it out :) I also wrote this article for those of you who may be interested in doing your work shift with the kids.
Also be sure to read through some of my gourmet camping meal ideas. They're not step-by-step recipes, and they're not geared towards any particular health or dietary issue, but quite flexible! Also note, many of those ideas were written before my vegetarian conversion, so be sure to look out for quite a few new additions! And yes, one of these days I swear I'll add actual pics.
NEW pic added! ZOMG! hahaha!
We weren't able to do PSG this year (I know *sigh*), but we just got back from the St. Louis Pagan Picnic and had a BLAST! (Not a camping fest, true, but some aspects are quite similar.) our guys from URN performed an acoustic set there many Pagan folks enjoyed, and so I thought I'd post up a pic for yas! We really wanted to thank the folks who put it all together, because it was for me PSG lite, a little taste to tide me over haha!
Take care, and perhaps I'll run into you this summer! For a good laugh, check out Stuff White People Like: camping. Why yes, yes I am of the caucasian persuasion, and yes I do rather enjoy outdoor excursions! ;) And hey, if you feel prompted to ask me a question about this stuff (or call me out on my bullshit!), feel free to drop me a line at doom diva (at) yahoo (dot) com. I'll be sure to update my site with your question or comment with my rely. Thanks!! :)
PS. Here's a few links (below) to get you thinking about going camping! Notice I finally got around to adding a damned picture (a couple years ago) :P It's what I brought to Paganstock, when our recording artist URN performed in 2006. It was plenty for me and Sophia to crash in overnight, but is nowhere NEAR what I bring to week-long festivals.
P.P.S. I added a full section on ideas for merchants in my Welcome "Home" section! I hope you find it informative! You'll also discover I've added a whole new section on festival potluck contribution ideas in my Outdoor Kitchen section! Yummmm!!!
